The no-frills carrier said it and Vladivostok International Airport struck a deal for the air route in Vladivostok last Saturday in the framework of the 17th meeting of the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee for Economic, Trade, Scientific and Technological Cooperation last week.

When the air route is launched is unknown. But, the carrier said as Hanoi City, HCMC and coastal tourism sites in Vietnam have become destinations for Russian visitors, the Vietnam-Vladivostok service will help spur not only tourism and trade links between the two countries.

VietJetAir said it has plans to connect this air route with other routes to Southeast Asian nations such as Cambodia, Thailand and Singapore via a stopover in Vietnam after launching the Vietnam-Vladivostok service.

Currently, VietJetAir operates 770 weekly flights on 29 domestic and international air routes.
