This morning Vietjet welcomed the latest addition to its expanding fleet when a brand new Airbus A320 landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City from Hamburg, Germany.

This is the second aircraft from an order of 100 Airbus jets to arrive from the French aviation company.

It was purchased through a financing agreement made by Vietjet with US-based GE Capital and Vietnam’s TPBank.

With an aircraft code of VN-A659, this brand-new design was exclusively assembled by Airbus for Vietjet and features the airline’s trademark luxurious leather seats, an elegant carpet, and premium interior decoration, all fitted out according to Airbus’ meticulous, industry-leading standards.

This single aisle plane is the top best-selling aircraft around the world as a result of the modern and advanced technology which helps airlines to reduce fuel consumption and lower operational costs.

This new aircraft will increase the number of aircraft in Vietjet’s fleet up to 19, enabling the airline to meet the spike in travel demand during the upcoming holiday season, including Christmas, New Year’s and Tet (Vietnam’s Lunar New Year holiday).

With an expanded fleet of Airbus aircraft, and a growing flight network, Vietjet can offer more and more flying opportunities to travelers at the best possible fares.

As the first privately owned airline in Vietnam, Vietjet is applying the operation model of a new age airline. With the fleet of 19 Airbus A320 aircraft, Vietjet now operates 130 flights per day, transporting eight million passengers in total so far.

The airline is covering 30 local and international routes across the country and the region to Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, and Cambodia.
