VietJet yesterday launched a direct route linking Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi with South Korea’s capital city of Seoul.

The route, currently operated under a partnership with South Korea’s SEYOU Corporation, will initially be flying daily round trips between the two hubs with a capacity of 2,520 seats per week.

The five-hour long flight will depart Hanoi every night at 1:45AM and arrive in Seoul at 7:55AM and depart Seoul every morning at 11:05AM and arrive in Hanoi at 2.10PM (all local times).

SEYOU has been appointed General Sales Agent to sell tickets in South Korea. VietJet would expand sales through all existing channels to meet the demand in both countries.

VietJet has also been operating a direct route from the central city of  Danang to Seoul since last week.

VietJet currently operates 27 local and international routes. Besides its latest connections to South Korea, the airline offers direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to Bangkok, Thailand and from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore.

The airline will soon further expand its network in the Asia-Pacific Region. It also intends to launch more joint ventures with regional airline partners following the unveiling of Thai VietAir in association with Kan Air in 2013, which operates internal flights from Bangkok to major tourism destinations in Thailand such as Chiang Mai and Phuket.
