Vietinbank, VietinAviva cooperate in cross selling card services, insurance

On December 11, life insurance company VietinAviva, a joint venture between VietinBank and multinational insurer Aviva, and VietinBank Card Center signed an agreement to cross sell insurances and cards.

Accordingly, VietinBank Card Center and VietinAviva are going to provide online payment service, payment through POS/MPOS, among others. In order to give customers of VietinAviva and VietinBank card holders more convenience when paying their insurance fee.

“The diversification of payment methods helps VietinAviva’s customers save time and money,” Nguyen Ngoc Trang, VietinAviva’s general director said. By bringing this modern insurance fee payment method to Vietnam for the first time, the two firms want to boost growth and raise their market share.

In Vietnam, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (Vietinbank) holds a 23 per cent share in the domestic debit card market and a 35 per cent share in the international debit card market.

VietinAviva, which started operation in October, 2011, provides insurance services for individuals and firms.
