VietinAviva introduces new product for dangerous diseases

VietinAviva on October 22 launched the Phat Bao An life insurance product that supports dangerous diseases. 

The Phat Bao An product supports customers in case of cancer, coronary artery disease, brain arteriovenous malformation, kidney failure and the last stage of liver failure. Customers of between 18 and 60 are eligible. The product has five different benefit packages, with the highest package paying VND1 billion ($47,000) of treatment fee, VND50 million ($2,300) x 12 months compensation for income loss and VND100 million ($4,600) x 2 times of recovery fee.

“VietinAviva knows that nobody wants a disease to happen to them. But there are so many risks around us, we have to plan in order to be proactive in case we have to face these dangerous diseases. We want to stay by the side of the customers so they can get through this difficult time more easily,” said Nguyen Ngoc Trang, general director of VietinAviva.

On this occasion, VietinAviva also introduced the Best Doctor international medical consultancy network. The consultancy is provided for free for customers and family members of customers of any VietinAviva products.

The Best Doctor network, founded in 1989, now employs 53,000 international medical specialists. It has provided consultancy to more than 30 million customers from 70 countries.

Cancer is one of the biggest causes of death worldwide. In Vietnam, each year there are 150,000 new cancer cases and 75,000 deaths from cancer. Most popular types of cancer in the country include lung, liver, breast and pancreatic cancer. One third of the cases can be prevented, one third can be cured and in one half of the cases one can lengthen the time to live and improve the quality of life by treatment.

VietinAviva, which started operations in October 2011, is a joint venture of VietinBank and UK insurer Aviva plc. It provides products for individuals, insurance-credit combination packages, insurance-investment packages and products for companies. In 2014, VietinAviva’s premium grew by 264 per cent on year. The company is one of the three life insurers with the highest growth in the year.
