Venezuelan President voices strong support for VN's foreign policy

PM Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that Viet Nam always treasures the great support and assistance offered by Venezuela during the past struggle for national liberation and the current development cause.

The Vietnamese Government chief made the statement while meeting with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros in Ha Noi on August 31.

President Maduro affirmed that Venezuela expects stronger ties with Viet Nam in various areas, expressing his belief that the bilateral ties would continue advancing in the time to come thanks to both sides’ sound political determination.

The two leaders agreed to coordinate closely in realizing joint projects on energy, consumer goods production, housing development, agriculture and aquaculture.

They also agreed to well maintain the effective role of the intergovernmental committee for bilateral cooperation while launching talks on new cooperation agreements to create favorable legal framework for the bilateral ties.

President Maduro said Venezuela stands ready to back Vietnamese businesses to seek investment opportunities in his country.

The Venezuelan President voiced his strong support for Viet Nam’s foreign policy as well as its positions over regional and international issues, including the peaceful settlement of maritime disputes in accordance with international law.
