UK trance band Above & Beyond set to come to Vietnam in Sept

The trio band Above & Beyond, one of the legendaries of trance music from London, will stage their first concert in Vietnam at the beachside site of Ho Tram Resort Casino in the southern coast province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on September 19.

The group consists of three members, Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki, was established in 2000 in the UK. The trio started their professional DJ career in 2002. Their mega hit “What it feels like for a girl” was remixed from Madonna’s original and took the DJ music charts by storm. Their releases have been on Billboard top albums and established the group at the forefront of electronic dance music (EDM). They were ranked 25th in the DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs Poll in 2014.

Organizers expect to lure 6,000 to 8,000 people to the six-hour event which starts from 10 p.m. on September 19.

According to Mai Duy Bao, founder of Escape Music Festival, a co-organizer of the event, some US$500,000 has been spent on the show. Apart from Above & Beyond, there will be other local and international DJs showing up at the concert. Laser performances and a fireworks display will also be held during the show. There are tents on the beach for guests to relax before and after the show.

There is a special price of VND550,000 per ticket for the first 1,000 people and the price will start at VND800,000 once those are sold. Packages including transportation and accommodation will also be announced in due course.
