Tourism promotion to foreign markets speeded up

In upcoming time, the Tourism General Department, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, will continue to promote national tourism potentials at home and abroad to reach its goal of 6.5 million foreign visitors to Vietnam in 2012.

Namely, the relevant agencies plan to hold events in the National Tourism Year 2012 of North Central Coast Region in Hue City, prepare for the national tourism years 2013 of Red Rive Delta in Hai Phong City and adopt more attractive policies to draw more investment in tourist sites across the country.

In first six months of this year, the tourism sector participated in many international expos such as ITB in Germany, MITT in Russia and TTIF-2012 in Thai land and also establish tourism cooperation projects Vietnam-Russia and Vietnam-Spain in 2013-2015 period, to name a few.

Thanks for these activities, since early in the year, Vietnam has welcomed more than 3.3 million foreign visitors, an increase of 13.9 per cent against the same period last year.
