During his working visit to Vietnam, Ritz worked on November 29 with Thai Huong, chairwoman and general director of BAC A BANK and chairwoman of TH Group (TH true MILK), which is Vietnam’s leader in high-tech application in the agricultural sector.
Ritz and Huong discussed high-tech application results from the group’s ongoing agricultural projects. The minister showed his especial interest in the group’s dairy cow production and fresh clean milk processing project, which is using state-of-the-art technology from global leaders like Siemens, Danfoss and Grundfos. Husbandry management technology and know-how are provided by Afimilk, Israel’s leading milk technology making group.
Specifically in July 2013, the company placed its $100 million 200,000-tonne-per-year hi-tech milk producing facility into commercial operation in the central province of Nghe An’s Nghia Dan district. The facility will continue being expanded until 2017, with annual capacity of 500 million littres of milk.
Ritz and Huong also discussed Vietnam’s dairy production industry, which has been revitalised by this dairy cow production and fresh clean milk processing project.
“With this project, we have had our own material sources for making international-standard fresh milk, contributing to better the health of Vietnamese people,” Huong said.
The two sides also discussed a plan to import about 10,000 dairy cows from Canada to the group’s farm in Nghia Dan in 2014’s first quarter.
Ritz said Canadian dairy cows had best a gene source quite suitable to Vietnam’s husbandry conditions.
Huong also affirmed that the group would like to cooperate with Canadian firms in some sectors including cultivation, feed production, veterinary, harvesting, packaging and product marketing.
