Taiwan must stop live firing in Truong Sa
Taiwan’s live firing in Ba Binh Island in Truong Sa (Spartly) archipelago seriously encroached on Viet Nam’s territorial sovereignty, Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Hai Binh said Monday.
The Spokesman made that statement in response to reporters’ question about Viet Nam’s reaction to Taiwan’s announcement to launch live firing in Ba Binh Island from November 3-4.
Viet Nam has full legal and historical documents to assert its sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spartly) archipelagoes, he affirmed.
Taiwan’s move has threatened peace, stability, maritime safety and security and caused tensions and complicated the situation on the East Sea.
Viet Nam resolutely opposes the move and asks Taiwan to immediately stop such illegitimate act and avoid similar occurrences, he stressed.
