Accordingly, by 2020 most of households will have electricity and by 2030 most of them will be able to access advanced, sustainable and reliable energy services at reasonable prices.

The traditional hydropower sources will be developed for socio-economic development of localities to supply on-site power and improve power supply safety. Medium and small-sized hydropower sources will be developed appropriately based on comprehensive evaluation on environmental impacts.

Hydropower production is expected to rise from 56 billion kWh in 2015 to nearly 90 billion kWh by 2020 and 96 billion kWh from 2030.

The use of biomass for electricity production, including biogas and biomass used directly as fuel and liquid biofuels will be prioritized. The rate of utilizing waste of industrial and agricultural plants for energy purposes will be raised from 45% in 2015 to 50%, 60% and 70% by 2020, 2030 and 2050 respectively.

The rate of biogas will be increased from 5% in 2015 to 10% and 50% in 2020 and 2030 respectively and by 2050 most of waste from animal husbandry will be treated.

The rate of urban wastes used for energy purposes will be 30% and 70% by 2020 and 2030 respectively and most of them will be utilized by 2050.

Solar energy will be provided for remote areas, rising from 10 million kWh in 2015 to 1.4 billion, 35.4 billion and 210 billion kWh by 2020, 2030 and 2050 respectively, raising the rate of solar power in the total power productivity to 0.5%, 6% and 20% by 2020, 2030 and 2050, respectively.

By 2030 wind energy will be prioritized on land and the power at sea and on the continental shelf will be studied after 2030.

The wind power productivity will rise from 180 million kWh in 2015 to 2.5 billion, 16 billion and 53 billion kWh by 2020, 2030 and 2050 respectively, raising the rate of wind power in the total power productivity to 1%, 2.7% and 5% by 2020, 2030 and 2050, respectively.
