State President hosts banquet on National Day

State President on Tuesday highlighted that historic movement which took Viet Nam to a new era of independence, freedom and socialism during the banquet to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Day of Viet Nam, which was also attended by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and PM Nguyen Tan Dung.

Recalling the country’s glorious history over the past seven decades, State President Sang said under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, Vietnamese people have been united, brave and steadfast to overcome numerous hardships to protect independence, freedom, unity, and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.

The country has successfully conducted the renewal process to advance to a new development level with increasingly high position and prestige on the international arena, he added.

The President affirmed that Vietnamese people are proud of the past achievements and will continue accelerating the renewal process, international integration, industrialization and modernization for sustainable development.

Viet Nam will also continue the consistent diplomatic guideline of independence, self -reliance, peace, cooperation and development, multilateralization and diversification of external relations, being a reliable friend and partner, an active member of the international community for peace, independence, democracy and social progress.

Viet Nam will continue working with neighboring countries to make active contributions to peace and stability in the region; addressing disputes and differences through peaceful measures on the basis of international law; being determined to collaborate with ASEAN member States to successfully build ASEAN Community and post-2015ASEAN Vision, State President Sang reiterated.

On behalf of the Party, State, Government, and people of Viet Nam, State President Sang expressed sincere thanks to foreign countries, international organizations and friends around the world for their valuable assistance for Viet Nam over the past 70 years.

Venezuelan Ambassador to Viet Nam Jorge Rondon Uzcategui extended his congratulations to Viet Nam on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the National Day.

He noted that Viet Nam is now known as a peace-loving country deepening international integration and playing an active role for the development in the region and the world.
