Singaporean business eye Danang market

Singaporean firms have showed their keen interest in hi-tech investment in the central city of Danang at an investment promotion seminar held recently in Singapore.

Those in attendance included 70 representatives from the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce in Singapore, the Singapore Business Federation, the International Enterprise Singapore, the Young Entrepreneurs Society of Singapore and a large number of investors.

Addressing the event, Executive Director of Singlarity consulting company Michael Dinh said its consumers and partners want to find out about information technology, clean energy and investment in Danang hi-tech park.

Ben Lim, Director of Singapore’s Shado International Group, said the company is running a project in the central province of Ha Tinh and plans to launch an electric bus service in this central city.

As a long-time investor in Vietnam, Chairman of the board of directors of Kinderworld Ricky Tan revealed that the group is poised to build an international-standard education-services complex on a 32ha site in the city.

As the 34 th member of the Association of International Educators, Kinderworld will bring more students from ASEAN, Singapore and the world to Danang, he said.

In a speech, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ho Ky Minh expressed the city’s desire to allure foreign investment in high technology, information technology, tourism, trade and logistics.

Singapore is currently largest investor of Danang with 22 projects worth nearly US$782 million, primarily in manufacturing, real estate, construction and education.
