Samsung to build second plant in Vietnam

Samsung Electronics Vietnam will build a factory to produce and assemble mobile phones and hi-tech electronic products as part of a high-tech project in northern Thai Nguyen province.

On February 6, a land lease was signed by Samsung and its Vietnamese partner for the implementation of the Samsung Hi-tech Consortium project in Yen Binh Industrial Zone.

During the signing ceremony, Thai Nguyen province leaders appreciated the company’s decision to invest in the region. The leaders requested departments, agencies and the district authorities to create favourable conditions to implement the project.

It is the company’s second plant in Vietnam . Samsung’s existing plant in Yen Phong Industrial Zone, northern Bac Ninh province, manufactures 11 million products per month and employs 24,000 people.
