Renowned guitarist Tommy Emmanuel to perform in Vietnam

The world’s renowned guitarist Tommy Emmanuel will stage pieces at the Youth Theater in Hanoi on October 21, according to the local news site VnExpress.

At the “Tommy Emmanuel 2015 Live in Vietnam” concert, the Australian guitarist will play finger-style songs at the theater for one and a half hours from 8 p.m. Before the concert starts, audiences will have a chance to take photos with him and get his autographs.

What is special about Emmanuel is his unique finger-style style of playing guitar as he uses all his ten fingers to play the musical instrument like a pianist plays the piano, according to information on his Facebook’s page.

Emmanuel learned to play guitar at the age of four. The 60-year-old guitarist has been nominated for Grammy Awards twice and is considered one of the world’s greatest guitarists.

The concert in Hanoi is part of Emmanuel’s tour to Asia in October. In addition to Vietnam, he also performs in Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.

Ticket for Emmanuel’s concert costs between VND500,000 (US$22.5) and VND1.2 million per person.

The Youth Theater is located at 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street, Hai Ba Trung District.
