The Embassy of the Republic of Poland announced that Polish Jazz band Michał Milczarek Trio is going to have three shows in Vietnam at the turn of April and May.

The trio will give one concert in Hanoi and two at Hue Festival Hue. The concerts are held as part of project JAZZ PO POLSKU that aims to promote Polish jazz over the globe, and is organised in cooperation with the Polish Embassy in Hanoi, Hue Festival, and Plateaux Foundation.

Michał Milczarek Trio will play pieces from their debut album Squirrels and Butterflies (2014) and their recently released album Ambient Works (2016).

One of the most interesting young bands on the Polish jazz scene, the group creates instrumental music combining modern jazz, rock, and electronic beats. It is considered one of the fastest prospering groups in Polish improvised music. The band is also known for its very intense concert activity. Its extremely spontaneous performances present jazz in a decidedly rock perspective.

Michał Milczarek Trio performed at numerous prestigious festivals, including International Ethno-Jazz Festival Flugery Lvova, Jazz Bez Festival in Ukraine, Singer’s Warsaw Festival, and International Theatre Festival Eye On Culture. The band has won the award “Jazz Phonographic Debut of the Year”. To date, Michał Milczarek Trio has released three albums, including EP The Big Game (2012), as well as two long plays: Squirrels and Butterflies (2014) and the most recent additions Ambient Works (April 2016).

Hue Festival is held every two years. A Polish team of architects led by Kazimierz Kwiatkowski contributed to restoring cultural heritage sites in the city after the war. Their work is remembered in the city with gratitude to this day.
