PM Dung meets with Chinese Premier

PM Nguyen Tan Dung called for  maintaining high-level meetings and contacts between Viet Nam and China to enhance mutual trust and cooperation and to timely settle emerging issues satisfactorily in the bilateral ties.

He met with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang in Milan, Italy on October 16 on the sidelines of the 10thASEM.

PM Dung affirmed that the Party, Government and people of Viet Nam treasure and expect to consolidate the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in a healthy and stable manner.

The two sides also need to convene the 7th meeting of the Viet Nam-China Steering Committee for bilateral cooperation soon, said PM Dung.

Regarding the East Sea issue, the Vietnamese PM urged both sides to effectively control the situation at sea, take no action that would further complicate the situation, push forward the progress of negotiation mechanisms, strictly implement the Agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues, respect international law, and work together to maintain peace and stability in the region and the world.

Premier Li stated that Chinese Party and Government always sticks to the friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with Viet Nam, hoping to satisfactorily deal with hard issues arising from bilateral ties.

The Chinese Premier also made positive responses to PM Dung’s concrete proposals to strengthen the relations between the two Parties and States in the time to come.
