Party Central Committee discusses socio-economic performance

The socio-economic performance in 2015 and the socio-economic development plan for 2016 were discussed at the 12th session of the 11th Party Central Committee, which started on October 5.

Speaking at the meeting, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong asked the Party Central Committee to consider and direct issues related to the socio-economic development and State budget revenue.

The accurate evaluation of the socio-economic performance in 2015 will provide a foundation for establishing and launching effectively the socio-economic development plan in 2016 and guarantee the socio-economic development goals in 2016-2020 and the 10-year-socio-ecnomic development strategy from 2011-2020.

The Party chief required assessing the stability of the macro-economy, growth quality, socio-economic development sustainability, investment and business environment improvement, the tackling of difficulties in production and business, especially the operation of domestic businesses and the agricultural sector.

He also asked to exam the implementation of strategic breakthroughs and economic restructuring in accordance with growth model renewal, developments in culture and society and the people’s living conditions and the maintenance of national defense, security, social order and safety.

He also proposed analyzing and assessing abnormal happenings in the world and the region on the nation’s socio-economic development, including the world’s economic recession, decreasing crude oil prices and the devaluation of Chinese Yuan.

The Party Central Committee needs to issue key tasks and solutions to make positive changes and breakthroughs for the socio-economic development in 2016 and the upcoming years as well as giving comments on investment allocations, State budget overspending and the issuance of Government bonds, he said.
