Vietnamese-funded airport project under construction in Laos
The Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group (HAGL) has begun construction of an international airport worth $40 million in Attapeu province.

This is one of two airport projects licensed to HAGL by the Laos Government. The project covers an area of 200 hectares and is divided into two stages.
During 2013-2020, the airport will receive small aircraft such as the ATR 72 and Fokker 70. After 2020, it will meet the requirements to handle larger aircraft like the Airbus A320.
Work is set to begin on another airport project in Huaphanh province in 2013.
