Hanoi’s February CPI increases 1.45 per cent
Hanoi ’s consumer price index (CPI) in February rose 1.45 per cent against last month, representing a year-on-year increase of 15.64 per cent.
Among 11 commodity groups, only post and telecom services remained unchanged, with rises in prices of housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction material group (2.79 per cent) and the group of restaurant and restaurant services (2.32 per cent).
According to economic experts, the CPI rise was due to increases in prices of housing, electricity, water, fuel, construction material and restaurant services, the price hike of gas from February 1 and the demand for foods after the traditional New Year festival.
The price for pure gold was up 0.34 per cent in comparison with January, but 9.37 per cent over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the price of the US dollar decreased 0.12 per cent in comparison with the previous month and 1.06 per cent against the same period of 2011.
