A delegation of 15 French companies is present in Hanoi from October 25-29 to take part in the “French Pavilion” organised by UBIFRANCE Vietnam during the Oil and Gas Exhibition.

>> 9th Vietnam Oil and Gas Expo 2011 to be held in Hanoi

According to the statement from French Embassy to Vietnam, this French participation aims at strengthening the relations between French and Vietnamese entities and companies in this sector, and at developing sustainable partnerships, as well as commercial, industrial or technological cooperations.

Those companies are Actimar, Airmeex, Cls, Drillstar Industries, Fce – Fluid Contrôle Europe, Inatis Project Consulting, Lafon, Mareal, Principia, Perenco, RB Technologies, Sica, Artelia – Sogreah, Spie Oil and Gas Services and Veolia.

These companies will get the opportunity to increase their understanding of the current issues and Vietnam’s policies in the Oil and Gas sector, the key projects and the means to take part in these projects as foreign suppliers and investors.

These French companies, whose experience and know how are internationally known, will also have the opportunity, through around 120 B2B meetings during the exhibition, to submit to Vietnamese counterparts and policy makers their offers in terms of advanced technologies, equipment and services.

The mission is also supported by Total, the fifth biggest global oil and gas firm, Technip, the world’s leading company in project management, design consulting and commissioning in the energy sector, and the French Oil and Gas Association, GEP.

It is also supported by PetroVietnam and the General Directorate for Energy under Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. French companies will have a meeting with both entities.

The oil and gas sector plays a key role in the Vietnamese economy. Vietnam, a crude oil-exporting country, has an increasing demand for oil refined products.

The country is facing a high demand for energy as a result of its population growth and economic and industrial development.

Vietnam has to increase its production capacities and foreign investments are therefore necessary. Moreover, it is Vietnam’s ambition to develop a high performing petrochemical industry. The opportunities in Vietnam are thus numerous and called to grow strongly.
