An inaugural ceremony for a mobile phone assembling plant was held in the southern province of Kien Giang on July 10.
The VND12 billion factory, invested by Foster Electric Danang Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of the Japan-based Foster Group, is the first project built in the Vinh Hoa Hung Nam industrial cluster, Go Quao district.
Covering 7,000 sqm, the plant is designed to produce about 1 million units a year in the first phase, generating over 1,300 jobs for local people.
It is expected to raise it production to 2 million units a year in the second phase, employing about 4,000 local people.
Japan’s Foster Group currently operates seven plants in Asia, including four in Vietnam.
