New Standard Chartered branch features Vietnam’s first automatic deposit locker

Standard Chartered opened its full-service branch in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City yesterday, featuring the first automatic deposit locker in Vietnam.

The branch, which is Standard Chartered’s fourth in Vietnam, is the bank’s latest move in developing its retail banking business and combines physical presence with digital capabilities. It provides a full suite of banking products and services for retail and corporate banking clients, including deposit, savings, and current accounts, loan products, insurance, wealth management, priority banking, as well as debit and credit cards.

Most importantly, the District 7 branch offers an automatic safe deposit locker, which is the first of its kind in Vietnam. According to the bank, this facility is accessible 24/7 and ensures the highest standard of security, convenience, and privacy to bring clients peace of mind in safeguarding their valuables.

The safe deposit locker is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of 2018 and will be available exclusively for Standard Chartered Vietnam’s priority clients.

Bill Winters, group chief executive of Standard Chartered PLC, attended the opening ceremony as part of his second official visit to Vietnam. In his speech, Winters stressed the importance of Vietnam as one of the fastest-growing markets of the bank and Standard Chartered’s commitment to digital innovations.
