New chairman of State Securities Commission appointed

Tran Van Dung, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, has been appointed as chairman of the State Securities Commission (SSC).

Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Xuan Ha chaired the ceremony to appoint Tran Van Dung in the afternoon of July 12 at the SSC headquarters.

Dung was born in 1965, he has a Master's degree in Economics.

He has 25 years of experience working in finance, banking, and the securities industry. He has worked for the State Bank of Vietnam, the State Securities Commission, the Hanoi Stock Exchange, and the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange.

In the course of his work, Dung has held senior management positions, such as deputy director of SSC, vice chairman then chairman of the Board of Directors cum CEO of the Hanoi Stock Exchange, vice chairman then chairman of the Board of Directors cum CEO of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
