Dear Editorial Board, staff, reporters, and editors of Vietnam Investment Review Group,

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the launch of the first VIR issue (September 27, 1991), and on behalf of the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Party Committee and leadership, I would like to express my warmest congratulations to you all.

Functioning as the press office of the Ministry of Planning and Investment over the past 25 years, VIR has accompanied the country’s Doi moi reforms, development and international integration. Together with the strong development and growth of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, VIR has ceaselessly grown in strength, to become one of the leading economic press agencies in Vietnam.

I highly commend VIR for its great efforts in always keeping true to its operational principles and purposes. It has done a very good job disseminating economic analysis, as well as meeting the demand for information from organisations, enterprises, and local and foreign investors.

On the occasion of this celebration, VIR has the honour to receive the First-Grade Labour Medal – a noble award demonstrating the acknowledgement from the Party and the State for the contributions and achievements of VIR.

This is a great achievement for not only VIR, but also of the Ministry of Planning and Investment. So I would like to congratulate you all on this important award!

I expect that in order to deserve the trust of the Party and the State, VIR – the press office of the Ministry of Planning and Investment – must now outperform what it has done over the past years, in terms of disseminating information about laws and business and investment policies to local and foreign investors, and enterprises. VIR must help them better understand and strengthen their confidence in Vietnam’s business and investment climate. VIR also needs to further promote the country’s image among foreign investors, so that they can feel at home, even though they are living and working in Vietnam.

Furthermore, VIR must continue to provide information quickly and precisely about what the Ministry of Planning and Investment is doing, so that readers can have a better understanding of the implementation of solutions to boost socio-economic development. This will further contribute to ensuring unanimity in society, so as to well accomplish the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress.

Vietnam is now embarking on a new development stage with significant opportunities. Along with the tradition of more than 70 years of the planning and investment sector, VIR is also witnessing a new development stage, after 25 years of construction and growth.

This offers a good opportunity for the entire Editorial Board, staff, reporters, and editors of VIR to continue enhancing their achievements, further cement their solidarity, and improve knowledge, political qualifications, and expertise, in order to well accomplish the goal of elevating the development of VIR.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, which is the management agency of VIR, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Party and State agencies, ministries, sectors, localities, contributors, local and foreign investors, enterprises, and readers for their faithful support of VIR’s growth.

Wishing you good health, happiness, and success!

NGUYEN CHI DUNG

Member of the Central Party Committee Minister of Planning and Investment
