Bac Ninh Province and Hanoi will create a zone specialising in hi-tech industry and set up industrial parks for supporting industries and information and technology.

Hanoi itself will also establish high-tech zones and industrial zones for the production of consumer goods. The capital will also establish a centre for fashion design.

Hung Yen and Hai Duong provinces together with Haiphong City will build industrial areas for producing textiles, footwear and industries to support accessory manufacturing.

The city has the advantage of a fully developed port, so it can also focus on developing supporting industries for the production of components and electronic parts assembly.

Quang Ninh Province will also become a centre for coal mining and thermal power, and, in conjunction with Hai Phong, will manufacture super-magnetic and super-gravity equipment, as well as stay involved in ship repairing and building.

With the advantage of raw materials, Quang Ninh will develop cement production and assembling large trucks for mining.

Manufacturing areas of products of super-magnetic field, ship building, synchronous equipment for manufacturing cement, thermal power, non-standard equipment devices will be established in Haiphong and Quang Ninh.

A chemical industry centre will be built in Bac Giang and Haiphong. Energy production areas will include Haiphong City, Quang Ninh, Hai Duong, Bac Giang and Lang Son provinces.

To develop industries along the economic corridor, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has also compiled a list of 55 major investment initiatives, including 13 energy projects.
