Minh pulls out of national tournament

Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has pulled out of the men's individual event in the national tournaments this year.

Minh said that he has won this event for 12 years and now wants to make way for younger players.

As planned, the Olympian will compete in 10 international events this year, compared to the 20 events he participated in last year.

World No 20 Minh aims to win a gold medal in the upcoming 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore in June, and will also play in the Rio Summer Olympics in 2016.
