Since last evening, millions of people, including students, women, and men, rushed to go shopping to partake of discounts on the occasions of Black Friday.

Cloth stores issued numerous promotion programmes some days ago to lure in customers, including discounts from 30 up to 70 per cent and buy one get one free deals.

Black Friday is great for budget-conscious shoppers. Notably, stores and shops reported massive revenue and profit in these days and heavily overloaded staff and packing areas.

People focus on shopping at stores on streets and shopping centres. It is not rare to see long queues of people and vehicles in front of stores like Mango, Zara, Aldo, and H&M in Hanoi.

A store manager in Cau Giay district revealed that they usually open at 9:00 AM and close at 10:00 PM, however, on these days, they open sooner and close later to serve double or triple as many customers. They have to recruit temporary managers and supervisors to deal with the workload. Furthermore, they often buy in bulk instead of retail purchasing at these times.

Customers are deeply interested in shopping on this occasion due to the attractive discount programmes.

“I want to buy everything at the stores, I had to wait for 15 minutes for parking and push my way through long queues to enter the store,” shared Hoa from Chua Boc.

Black Friday is the informal name for the day following Thanksgiving in the US, the fourth Thursday of November, which has been regarded as the beginning of the country's Christmas shopping season since 1952.

Most major retailers open very early, more recently even started to stay open overnight, and offer promotional sales. Black Friday is not an official holiday, but California and some other states observe "the Day after Thanksgiving" as a holiday for state government employees, sometimes in lieu of another federal holidays, such as the Columbus Day.

Many non-retail employees and schools have both Thanksgiving and the following Friday off, which, along with the following regular weekend, makes it a four-day weekend, thereby increasing the number of potential shoppers.
