Today, Microsoft Corporation and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry co-organise NGO Connection Day event in Hanoi, an annual event seeking to gather representatives of NGOs in Vietnam, share the new trends, update technological achievements, towards deployments which can help NGOs improve operational efficiency, hence doing a better service for the community.

However, accessing to new technologies is also the difficult problem with NGOs.

NGO Connection Day is one among Microsoft initiatives, to be held from 2005 worldwide, in order to raise awareness of NGOs about the benefits of technology, how to approach for optimum benefits when deploying IT in NGO and then help NGOs increase the ability to operate under the most efficient method.

Being a leader of solutions for productivity, operating systems and cloud computing, Microsoft has been continuing to sponsor NGOs access to and use of the application development, platform, collaboration and productivity tools, as well as the products and solutions based on the best cloud platform.

Approaching and executing the optimal solutions and the Microsoft device platforms such as Windows Server and Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office and other productivity solutions, Windows Phone devices and Lumia, the NGOs can reduce cost and time, which invest in IT and focus the mentioned resources to help resolving the current global challenges.

At NGO Connection Day 2015, Microsoft and partners introduce the newest Microsoft products and solutions together with the better way to approach for NGOs.

“During the long history of the past 30 years, Microsoft has been continuously organising philanthropy, community supports especially in providing software and cash for NGOs worldwide.

Microsoft crucial investments for NGO community in Vietnam will be used to accelerate the IT deployment, skills and productivity in operation to help the NGO’s IT governance more effectively.

Hence, NGOs’ staff can focus resources to support the community, helping the Vietnamese community to connect to the better opportunities and life, bringing more positive steps for all people,” said Vu Minh Tri, Microsoft Vietnam general director.

NGO Connection Day 2015 event has demonstrated long-term commitment of Microsoft to Vietnam in support of IT development for the country's economy through boosting the whole society’s resources to help the Vietnamese community, every organisation or individual to maximise available capacity via IT.

“IT has become a great resource to support and increase competitiveness for individuals, organisations and enterprises. Via technologies, all organisations can utilise optimally the resources to address social challenges today,” said Vu Tien Loc, VCCI chairman.

“VCCI and Microsoft will work hard to help NGOs and businesses access these various Microsoft products and resources effectively,” Loc noted.

During two years of 2013 - 2014, Microsoft has sponsored free software for over 100 NGOs in Vietnam.

Apart from the software donation, Microsoft and partners also organise workshops as well as technical assistance in order to improve operational efficiency and link Vietnam with global NGOs.

Those activities can help to build stronger communities, improve operational efficiency and serve the people in Vietnam, especially the disadvantaged groups.
