Malaysia asked to protect Vietnamese citizens

Vietnam vehemently condemns actions that infringe upon the bodies and lives of Vietnamese citizens, said Foreign Ministry deputy spokesperson Pham Thu Hang on October 31.

Concerning a Vietnamese citizen attacked in Malaysia, Hang said according to the Vietnam Embassy, Malaysian authorities on October 29 arrested three suspects related to the case and are coordinating with local police to conduct an investigation. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

“Vietnam requests Malaysian relevant agencies to take timely measures to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese citizens in Malaysia and duly punish culprits.”, the official said.

The Vietnam Embassy in Malaysia are closely working with local authorities to continue clarifying information about the incident.
