Following the success of the previous seasons of the National Football Competition for Kids, Korean food giant Lotte Group and subsidiary Lotteria Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnam General Department of Sports and Physical Training recently launched the Lotteria Challenge Cup 2015.

This year’s tournament will take place in six municipalities nationwide from August 29.

Starting from 2013, the Lotteria Challenge Cup, an annual tournament to develop football movement, provides an educational playground of honesty, nobility, sense of discipline and solidarity for children aged 7 to 9 years old.

The 2015 season will be kicked off with the first pre-qualifying round on August 29-30 in Hanoi and expected to return to Hanoi with the final round on October 10 to be coinciding with the 61st anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day.

The Lotteria Challenge Cup 2015 will later take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh city, Danang city, Haiphong and Can Tho city.

A total of 64 teams will join this year’s tournament, including 16 teams from Hanoi, 16 teams from Ho Chi Minh City and 8 teams from other locations.

Similar to last seasons, each province or municipality will have four teams, competing in a round-robin system to select the best one to join the finals. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City can select two teams.

In this final round, the teams will be divided into groups and continue competing following the round-robin format. The group winners and the runners-up will play knock-outs to win the Lotteria Cup 2015.

The tournament champion will receive a cash reward of VND60 million ($2,750). Second and third place will receive VND40 million ($1,835) and VND30 million ($1,375) respectively while consolation price winners will get VND10 million ($460).

The hometown of the champion will have a mini stadium built by Lotteria Challenge Cup 2015’s Organising Board as a significant reward.

Right now, football teams for kids across the country can submit their applications to join Lotteria Challenge Cup 2015 by sending records to email address lotteriacup2015@gmail.com.
