Largest Saigon spring flower festival in pictures

About 3,000 exhibits of the most special flowers, bonsai and art rocks, among other items, are being displayed at the Spring Flower Festival, which opened on February 3 evening in Tao Dan Park in District 1, HCM City.

The annual event features ornamental plants, bonsai, rock gardens, dried trees, grafted stones, cacti, ornamental fish and various rare flowers, such as 20 kg monster Piranha fish, award-winning collections of Koi fishes at the Vietnam Japanese Koi Fish Contest 2015, collections of giant and rare orchids and others.

Entry ticket is VND20,000 per person. Children aged 12 and under enter free of charge.

Nguyen Thi Thu, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee, described the festival, which runs until February 14, as part of the city’s special cultural identity and a traditional activity to welcome spring.

It also offers an opportunity for horticulturalists and artisans to engage in exchanges and showcase their works, contributing to promoting the land and people of HCM City.

Along with the festival, three major flower markets will be opened at the September 23, Gia Dinh and Le Van Tam parks, while 128 flower markets will meet in districts across the city from February 1-7.
