Lao PM visits Vietnam

Lao PM Thongsing Thammavong and his entourage arrived in Da Nang city on July 13 for a working visit in Viet Nam.  

The guests were welcomed by Politburo member and Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who is also Chairman of the Viet Nam – Laos Cooperation Sub-Committee; Minister and Head of the Government Office Nguyen Van Nen and other officials from ministries, central agencies and Da Nang city. Deputy PM Phuc appreciated the visit, saying that it would contribute to enhancing special unity and cooperation between the two countries and nourishing the traditional relations between the two Parties, the two States and the two countries’ people. PM Thammavong expressed his pleasure to visit the country and spoke highly of Viet Nam’s achievements in economic development, national defence, security and social welfare. He also valued outcomes in comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. Meeting with Da Nang city’s leaders, the guest praised the city’s breakthrough development which helped the city achieve a fast growth in economics and urban civilization, leaving impressions on visitors. During the meeting, Da Nang leaders and the Lao high-level delegation exchanged experience in integration and development, particularly in building a green civilized city and boosting administrative reforms to attract investment and professionalize the city’s administrative system to serve people. PM Thammavong and his entourage visited and met with leaders of Quang Nam province and Hoi An city, which have maintained close relations with Laos’ border provinces, including Sekong province. The special and comprehensive relations between Quang Nam and Sekong provinces have been deepened, bringing practical benefits to their people. On this occasion, the Lao PM and his entourage visited several cultural and economic establishments in Hoi An ancient streets and Ba Na Hill Resort.
