KPMG, one of the leading professional services firms globally, today announces the launch of its family business practice in Vietnam and Cambodia.

Family-owned companies have specific needs. To support them in meeting their unique challenges, at the global level KPMG International has set up a Global Centre of Excellence dedicated to family businesses.

KPMG’s Centre of Excellence for Family Business takes the form of a dedicated team combined practitioners from KPMG member firms and independent experts.

This initiative offers great access to knowledge and expertise available across the KPMG global network.

KPMG’s Centre of Excellence provides insights on seven key issues of family business, that KPMG calls the Family Business Rainbow including growth; governance; assurance; exit strategies; wealth preservation; succession and next generation and philanthropy.

KPMG in Vietnam and Cambodia have a dedicated team of Audit, Tax and Advisory professionals committed to adding value to local family-owned businesses from all sectors, with a broad range of multidisciplinary services.

The firm aims to become the leading business advisors for significant and ambitious family owned businesses in Vietnam and Cambodia by leveraging KPMG global expertise while providing customised services that best fit the specific needs of each local client.

“Family businesses are the backbone of our economy and they also face their own unique challenges,” said Warrick Cleine, chairman and CEO of KPMG in Vietnam and Cambodia.

“One of the biggest challenges for these talented entrepreneurs is Governance and Succession planning to the next generation. The mission of the KPMG Family Business Practice is to help strengthen families and their businesses by putting together personalised solutions that will preserve harmony and wealth for the family and professionalise their business operations, enhancing long term success.”

Hoang Anh Tuan, the director leading KPMG’s Family Business Practice, was equally enthusiastic.

“The most exciting aspect for me is that I grew up with famous brand names of family owned businesses all around me.  These companies are part of our history in Vietnam and Cambodia, and by partnering with a global organisation such as KPMG, they will be part of our future as well,” Tuan said.
