Vietnam currently imports about six million tonnes of corn per year to meet the nation’s growing demand for animal feed. Following the recent launch of the weed- and insect-resistant Genuity corn seeds in the north of Vietnam, Narasimham Upadyayula, CEO of Monsanto’s wholly-owned subsidiary Dekalb Vietnam, talked to VIR’s Ha Duy about how the company’s products would benefit farmers and helping Vietnam reduce its dependency on corn imports.
