Korean insurer Hanwha Life Vietnam, in partnership with Child Fund (Korea) and Child Fund Vietnam, have just donated a new $100,000 medical centre to Lang Ngam commune, Ngan Son district, in the north-eastern province of Bac Kan.
The new medical centre aims to improve healthcare conditions and living standards for residents in remote areas

This is the third health centre that Hanwha Life Vietnam has donated to the northern mountainous region, where healthcare is still difficult to access for residents.

Previously, the company presented one medical centre to Bac Phong commune in Hoa Binh province (2015) and another to Kim Truyen commune in the same province (2016).

As an insurer, Hanwha Life values the importance of providing public healthcare and building facilities to meet the needs of people.

Co-operating with Child Fund, the company is committed to improving the living quality and creating lasting values for Bac Kan’s residents. In the future, Hanwha Life will be involved in many community-based activities in other localities to draw long-term ties tighter with the people and country of Vietnam.

After more than eight years of operations in Vietnam, Hanwha Life Vietnam has sponsored many community projects to carry out its mission of going along with the people of Vietnam to plan their future and make their dreams come true.

From 2014 to 2016, the impoverished people in 14 provinces and cities across the country received more than 27,260 health cards from Hanwha Life Vietnam, helping them reduce the burden of healthcare expenses and providing better treatment conditions.

In 2017, Hanwha Life Vietnam continues to co-operate with the Ho Chi Minh City Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients, donating more than 9,500 health insurance cards worth nearly VND2 billion ($90,900) to Ho Chi Minh City residents and many other localities nationwide.

As education and the development of the future generation are in the mission of Hanwha Life Vietnam, the company financed the construction of a new primary school in Cao Phong district (2013) and Daycare Centre A in Kim Boi district (2014), both in the northern province of Hoa Binh.

In addition, the Korean insurer works with the Korean Cultural Exchange Organisation to realise the dream of owning a decent home for many poor households, with 133 houses in Vietnam-Korea Friendship Village during 2013-2014 and 30 ‘houses of love’ delivered in diverse locations across the country, including Khanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ca Mau, Ben Tre, Danang, Thanh Hoa, and Dak Lak during 2015-2016.

The total cost Hanwha Life has shouldered so far is estimated at more than VND22 billion ($1 million).

In recognition of the company’s contributions to the community, in December 2015, Hanwha Life Vietnam was honoured with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award by the Korean Consulate, the Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment, and the Korean Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy.
