Gov't continues giving priority to macro-economic stability, inflation control

PM Nguyen Tan Dung asked ministries, agencies and localities to accelerate the synchronous and comprehensive implementation of plans and programs as well as propose prompt policies to address difficulties and challenges in the context of extensive international integration.

He made that statement at the Government regular meeting on January 29.

The PM highlighted active achievements of the ministries, agencies and localities in realizing socio-economic development plan, investment and State budget estimate plan and other action plans.

In terms of economics, PM Dung proposed controlling prices and inflation, continuing strengthening the macro-economy, expanding markets, enhancing exports and decreasing trade deficit, ensuring the economy’s balance, practicing thrifts and guaranteeing the budget spending and revenue.

He required the launch of measures to tackle difficulties to support businesses in production as well as boost up activities related to agricultural, industrial production and services, and foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction and disbursement.

The PM asked for supporting local people to overcome consequences of the recent severe cold spell.

Regarding the international economic integration, he requested to be well-prepared for integration conditions and take full advantages of free trade agreements.

Measures to ensure social welfare and security and promote the development of health care, culture and education were also referred to.

The PM stressed the guaranty of commodity demand and supply, food safety and vehicles for people to enjoy the Lunar New Year festival.
