Borsch has completed the first year of its Technical Industrial Apprenticeship (TGA) program with 46 apprentices enrolled. The programme combines theoretical training at LILAMA2 Technical & Technology College with hands-on work experience.

Bosch began the programme in November last year with an initial investment of US$1 million.

"The lasting relationship between Viet Nam and Germany has paved the way for further progress towards raising the bar of Vietnam's labor skills," said Gabriel. "Initiatives such as the cooperation between Bosch and LILAMA2 is a pioneering effort that sets an example for many more companies and vocational training colleges in Viet Nam to follow."

In the six years since Bosch established its operations in Viet Nam, the company has grown to around 2,000 associates and is now one of the largest European high-technology enterprises present in the country.

"We have established a local technical training curriculum that is adapted from Germany's renowned educational standards and manufacturing strengths, in an aim to impart high-tech skill sets and knowledge to our local workforce," said Vo Quang-Hue, managing director of Bosch in Vietnam.

Bosch's manufacturing plant in Dong Nai Province has an investment of $340 million, while the company has two research and development centers in HCM City for software engineering and automotive technologies (mobility solutions).

Bosch has seven business divisions in Viet Nam, including Gasoline Systems, Drive and Control Technology and Power Tools.
