Ford Vietnam’s July sales increase 46 per cent

Ford Vietnam today reported overall July retail sales that rose 46 per cent year-over-year to 685 units, driven by strong results from its class-defining all-new Ranger pickup, refreshed Ford Everest SUV, Ford Escape small SUV and Ford Transit commercial vehicles.

The continuing strength in demand for its full lineup of vehicles helped Ford capture 7.3 per cent market share in July.

Ford’s year-to-date sales through July have now increased 102 per cent from the same period a year ago to 4,109 units, helping it remain one of the fastest-growing automotive brands in the market this year.

“Customers are appreciating the unmatched value that our Ford vehicles deliver – from the smart technology, to our focus on fuel efficiency, quality and safety – which is supported by our ongoing commitment to provide the very best customer experience,” said Jesus Metelo ‘Met’ Arias, managing director of Ford Vietnam.

Demand for the all-new Ford Ranger continued to surge in July with retail sales that jumped 93 per cent year-over-year to 116 units. Year-to-date sales have jumped 252 per cent to 791 units, making it the company’s best-selling vehcle this year.

“The unmatched versatility and capability of this extraordinary truck has redefined the compact pickup segment, and is the undisputed leader in pick up segment in Vietnam,” commented Arias.

The refreshed Ford Everest, featuring a more modern exterior and more refined interior design, saw July retail sales jump 126 per cent to 167 units. Overall year-to-date sales of the popular Everest family SUV have increased 55 per cent to 669 units.

The Ford Transit commercial van continued to demonstrate its strong appeal in the Vietnam market and leadership of its segment with July sales that climbed 187 per cent to 198 units. Year-to-date sales of the Transit have increased 178 per cent from the same period last year to 930 units.

Sales of the Ford Escape increased 55 per cent in July to 85 units, pushing year-to-date sales of the popular small SUV up 112 per cent from a year ago to 433 units.

Sales of Ford’s cars also delivered a strong monthly performance in July, with the technology-packed Ford Focus delivering retail sales of 76 units – helping its year-to-date sales rise 105 per cent to 761 units.

Through July, sales of the segment-leading Ford Fiesta are up 20 per cent year-to-date to 509 units. The Fiesta delivers an unmatched combination of safety, fuel efficiency, quality, smart technologies and value for money.

In addition to the introduction of segment-leading One Ford vehicles, Ford continues to build on its commitment to further improving its customer experience.
