Ford Vietnam- part of US-based auto giant Ford Motor Company- today announced its best-ever performance for the month of July with retail sales jumping 7 per cent year-over-year to 1,405 units.

Sales across Ford’s entire lineup in Vietnam helped drive the record July, including continuing strength in demand for the Ranger, EcoSport, Everest and Transit nameplates.

Ford’s year-to-date sales have now risen 58 per cent from a year ago to 10,357 units, as it continues to be one of the fastest growing automotive brands in Vietnam this year.

“Our full line-up of class-leading Ford vehicles continues to attract a wide range of Vietnamese customers who appreciate the unmatched value in their respective segments,” said Pham Van Dung, managing director, Ford Vietnam.

The class-defining Ranger achieved sales of 388 units in July as Ford transitions from the current model to the new Ranger, which is being officially launched this month. The Ranger continues to lead the pickup segment with year-to-date sales rising 83 per cent versus to the same period last year, to 3,780 units.

The Transit maintained its position as segment leader in commercial vans with sales of 411, rising 22 per cent from the same time last year.

Year-to-date, Transit sales have increased 39 per cent to 2,841 units, as business owners and operators across a range of industries continue to appreciate the durability, versatility and value proposition that this high-quality commercial vehicle delivers.

The EcoSport compact SUV continued its strong performance in July with a 34 per cent rise in sales to 361 units compared to the previous year, driving its year-to-date sales up to 2,067 units.

Since being launched in mid-2014 in Vietnam, the EcoSport has helped to define a whole new vehicle segment in Vietnam with its unique blend of versatility, fuel efficiency and smart technologies that appeals to an active urban lifestyle.

Ford is continuing to expand its dealer network to serve more customers nationwide. In August, Ford Thang Long will open its new 2S outlet in Tay Mo, Hanoi. This will bring the total number of Ford dealers and outlets in Vietnam to 29 facilities.

“We’re proud to be connecting with so many Vietnamese customers, as we continue to make the Ford brand even more accessible across the country, and work to provide the very best customer and ownership experience,” Dung noted.
