Ford Vietnam celebrates first New Fiesta

Ford Vietnam’s manufacturing facility, Hai Duong Plant today celebrated an historic milestone when the popular small car – New Fiesta equipped Ford’s internationally award-winning 1.0L EcoBoost engine rolled off the production line.

The first new Fiesta – a Diamond white four-door sedan and Cyan five-door hatchback were driven off the line to mark the official start of production.

“Today's celebration and start of production in Hai Duong marks the latest milestone in the global success story for the New Ford Fiesta," said Metelo Arias, managing director of Ford Vietnam. “The new Ford Fiesta – which has been very successfully winning over significant numbers of new-to-Ford customers around the world – is a leading example of our One Ford plan to develop vehicles that meet the needs, wants and expectations of customers around the world.”

Ford is the first leading auto brand that brings an advanced engine technology and other smart and safety packages to a popular small car at affordable price. Adding production of One Ford global products to Hai Duong plant highlights Ford’s commitment to capturing even more of the growing small car segment in Vietnam, as well as continues its product-led transformation and aggressive growth plan for Vietnam market.

 “Our aim with the new Ford Fiesta was to take a popular car that was already a segment leader in fuel efficiency, performance and personality, and make it even better,” said Arias. “Fiesta delivers all the excitement drivers are looking for in a car we believe will raise the bar even higher for small cars in Vietnam.”

The most dramatic and distinctive new Fiesta will deliver the best fuel efficiency that Vietnamese customers want and value, led by Ford’s patented new 1.0 L EcoBoost engine. With this landmark engine which was selected as the International Engine of the Year for two year in a row, all-new Fiesta stands as a shining examples of Ford’s commitment to provide consumers with the most fuel-efficient cars, contributing to the reduction of CO2 and fuel consumption.
