First lantern road to light up Hoan Kiem lake pedestrian street |
The event, jointly organised by the Hanoi People’s Committee and Phuong Dong Joint Stock Company, aims to bring a colourful mid-autumn festival to children in the capital city.
There will be hundreds of colourful giant lanterns and stars on display along the road, which is promised to be an ideal check in area for families, pedestrians and visitors on the night of the mid-autumn festival.
Diverse activities will be held during the event including comedy, music and circus performances by popular artists such as Xuan Bac and Tu Long, while children will be in with a chance of receiving interesting gifts like traditional folk toys and participating in a flashmob dance on the pedestrian street.
Visitors can call at pavilions selling traditional toys for the mid-autumn festival and join dragon dances, lantern processions and a street carnival through the ancient streets of Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
