Fire kills two, injures four in HCM City

Phạm Thị Mùi, 63, and her three-year-old grandchild Châu Ngọc Hân, were killed.
Local residents, who said the fire was detected around 1am, tried to break into the building, but the fire had spread too quickly.
Two fire trucks and 42 firefighters from District 9’s Department of Fire Fighting and Prevention put out the fire.
Four others, including Mùi’s two sons, one daughter and a 12-year-old grandchild, suffered burns on their bodies.
Mùi, the owner of the two 20-sq.m kiosks, had previously rented them to others, but about three months ago, she took them back to use as temporary accommodation while waiting for her house to be rebuilt.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
