As many as 30 special dishes and drinks from 20 European businesses and trade offices in Vietnam were featured at the European culinary festival in Ho Chi Minh City on September 8.

Visitors enjoyed Greek salad, Spanish lamb, fried seafood rice and Vermeer cheese from FrieslandCampina Vietnam, which triumphed at the 2012 World Championship Cheese Contest in the US.

EuroCham representative Kristof Claes said the festival is an important event that helps strengthen diplomatic, economic and cultural ties between Europe and Vietnam to promote sustainable development.

Meanwhile, an organic food festival with 50 stands from businesses, restaurants and hotels in the southern provinces will also be held in the city from September 11-14.

The event will showcase green materials and products along with some programmes providing useful information for consumers.

It aims to raise the public's awareness of protecting their health, as well as the environment, by consuming organic food.
