Mr. Bill Foudy told the Deputy PM that Walmart is seeking to establish its retail outlets in Viet Nam in the near future.

According to the Vice President, Walmart set up its representative office in Viet Nam in June, 2013, aiming to purchase Vietnamese footwear, garments and textiles, household utensils at its retail outlets in Canada, Chile, Mexico and China.

Walmart supports Viet Nam’s ongoing Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations as well as free trade pacts with other countries, said Mr. Bill Foudy.

For his part, Mr. Ninh said that Viet Nam would create favorable conditions for Walmart’s operation in Viet Nam in favor of the better trade ties between Viet Nam and the US.

The presence of Walmart in Viet Nam would help boost domestic production and meet fresh criteria of Walmart’s markets, said the host leader.
