American singer Diane Witherspoon will bring classic jazz to life at Le Club with The Rhythm of Gentle Jazz every Tuesday to Sunday at 8:45 p.m. from May 1 until the end of July.

The Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has decided to bring the inimitable and charismatic vocalist back in response to the demand of jazz enthusiasts in the capital, the hotel announced in a statement.

The Minneapolis, Minnesota native began singing as a child in a Baptist church choir. Influenced by her cousin – the late Blues great Jimmy Witherspoon - and her sister Shirley Witherspoon, a former Duke Ellington vocalist, she began developing her native music style. In addition to performing with her own jazz ensembles (from duos to quintets), Witherspoon has performed with many famous bands.

She has sung at luxury hotels and high-end bars in places such as New York Bar in the Park Hyatt Tokyo, Bamboo Bar, The Mandarin Oriental in Bangkok, the Emirates Towers Hotel in Dubai and the Okura Hotel in Guam.
