Mr. Minh expressed his pleasure to witness the positive and comprehensive developments in the Viet Nam-UK strategic partnership and highly spoke of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two sides for efficient implementation of annual action plans.

The host leader proposed the two sides spur visit exchanges of high-ranking delegations and business communities.

Deputy PM Minh took the occasion to suggest the British Government back the Viet Nam-EU relations in general and the bilateral ties in particular within the framework of ASEM, ASEAN-EU and the UN.

For his part, Ambassador Giles Lever hailed the socio-economic achievements and international cooperation of Viet Nam.

The UK, said the new Ambassador, always respects the strategic partnership with Viet Nam especially in the areas of politics, diplomacy, economics, trade, investment, education and training.

Ambassador Giles Lever informed that the UK Government supports the negotiation and the early signing of the EU-VietNam free trade agreement (FTA).

He also pledged to contribute to nurturing the bilateral ties.
