H
aving travelled to Nha Trang
a number of times already for
both business and leisure, I
have stayed at various proper-
ties, such as the Evason Ana Mandara,
with its idyllic beachfront location and
ease of access to the city.
My two boys love visiting Vinpear-
land with its fun activities and my wife
and I have escaped a few times to Six
Senses Ninh Van and most recently to
An Lam Villa Beach.
This visit gave us the opportunity
to enjoy some of the many new luxury
travel experiences now open to sophis-
ticated holidaymakers in Nha Trang
and we based ourselves at the newly
opened five-star Amanoi in neighbour-
ing NInh Thuan province which is one
of the top 33 best new hotels in the
world, according to Conde Nast Trave-
ler magazgine.
On the way to town from Cam
Ranh airport you pass beautiful Long
Beach where Hyatt and Marriott hotels
are soon to be built.
The new road is framed by moun-
tains on one side and the sea on the
other and it passes many floating vil-
lages.
From Cam Ranh Bay we enjoyed
the dramatic scenery and we could al-
ready see new resorts being construct-
ed along the new road. So far there
is only one however - the Amanoi re-
sort in Nui Chua National Park, on the
border between Khanh Hoa and Ninh
Thuan provinces.
Tucked away in Vietnam’s Nui Chua
National Park, overlooking the East Sea,
the 36-villa Amanoi is remote and bliss-
fully soothing. You’ll feel your breathing
slow as soon as you enter the hotel’s
main pavilion, an open-air mountaintop
building that houses the reception area,
restaurant and bar, a library, and opens
onto a terrace with views of the sur-
rounding tree-blanketed peaks.
It’s not easy to go on day-trips from
this hotel, but you won’t want to any-
way - this is a place meant for recharg-
ing, whether at the private beach club
overlooking Vinh Hy Bay or at the spec-
tacular spa.
Nui Chua National Park, overlook-
ing the sea, covers an area of about
