Boutique Hoi An Resort
has been awarded a Certifi-
cate of Excellence 2014 by
TripAdvisor. This accolade
is granted to businesses in
the top-performing 10 per-
cent of all hotels and resorts
worldwide on TripAdvisor
website, based on reviews
and rating posted on this
website. Located on the
renowned Cua Dai Beach,
only 5 minutes from the old
heritage town of Hoi An,
the resort brings guests fan-
tastic experience of discov-
ering the ancient town, that
lies on the branch of the
Thu Bon River and merely
35 km from Danang airport.
The 82-room resort boasts
the panoramic views of the
ocean and the beautiful
outdoor pool with private
balconies. Surrounded by a
tropical garden with exotic
flowers, the spacious swim-
ming pool appears as a mag-
nificent icon while its spa
treatment is pure, authentic
and results-oriented, with
expert therapists dedicated
to providing unique healing
experiences.
The Electrolux Asia Pa-
cific Food Survey 2014 – the
region’s largest independent
food survey – boasts a sam-
ple size of 5,000 across the
Asia Pacific region. The on-
line survey is conducted in
10 countries, including Tai-
wan, Thailand and Vietnam.
It revealed that the Asia Pa-
cific is a region of foodies,
with 94 per cent of respond-
ents describing themselves
as passionate about food.
However, this love for food
does not translate into bud-
ding home cooks, as the ma-
jority of respondents (48 per
cent) feel that ‘limited’ best
describes their ability in the
kitchen, with a further 12
per cent admitting to being
a culinary disaster.

Trang An scenic land-
scape complex in Ninh Binh
province in northern Viet-
nam has just been added to
the United Nations Educa-
tional, Scientific and Cultural
Organization’s World Herit-
age List. This makes it the
country’s first site to be ac-
knowledged as a mixed nat-
ural and cultural area. Trang
An is a spectacular landscape
of limestone karst peaks
permeated with valleys, and
surrounded by steep cliffs.
Exploration of some of the
caves that are dotted across
the landscape has revealed
archaeological traces of hu-
man activity dating back
almost 30,000 years. They
illustrate the occupation of
these mountains by hunter-
gatherers and how they
adapted to climatic and en-
vironmental changes. The
zone is also home to Hoa Lu,
the old capital of Vietnam in
the 10th and 11th centuries,
as well as temples, pagodas,
paddy-field landscapes, vil-
lages and sacred sites.
