he majority of tourists to Da-
nang visit Non Nuoc marble
carving village, where marble
has been carved for decades.
Located in Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son
district, the village was founded in the
18th century by an artist named Huynh
Ba Quat, who hailed from north-central
province of Thanh Hoa.
Specialist artisans here make differ-
ent types of statues from marble. Visit-
ing the village, tourists will be sure to
admire the artworks, each one express-
ing the talent of its creator.
The most special statues are those of
Buddha, the Holy Spirit, Venus, and myth-
ical animals like, unicorns and dragons.
From a small community, the vil-
lage has grown and marble shops are
now located along the costal road
stretching from Danang to Hoi An.
